First up, in this video essay by Frame Voyager, he’s talking about the new Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. Based on Elijah Wald's 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric!, the film chronicles Bob Dylan's rise from a folk music phenomenon to the seismic moment at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where his shift to electric instruments sparked both outrage and acclaim. Starring Timothée Chalamet as Dylan—who also serves as a producer—the biopic features an ensemble cast including Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy. Taking its title from the iconic chorus of Dylan's 1965 hit "Like a Rolling Stone," the film navigates the challenges of depicting a living legend. Director James Mangold, no stranger to musical biopics after Walk the Line, brings his expertise to the project, with Chalamet stepping into the daunting role of embodying an American icon—a journey of dedication, spanning six years of creative triumphs and setbacks.

2025 is going to be a great year for feature films! We’re already seeing it with spec script sales and all of the exciting announcements that have been coming out over the last few weeks.
