I am excited to announce a new partnership that continues Stage 32’s expansion throughout Mexico and Latin America.

Stage 32 Certification has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Baja Film Commission to bring internationally recognized training and certification opportunities to the filmmaking community of Baja California.

This initiative focuses on one of Mexico’s most internationally connected and production-friendly regions, a state that has played a significant role in both Hollywood and Mexican filmmaking for decades.

Baja California as a production hub between Los Angeles and Mexico

Located directly adjacent to Southern California, Baja California occupies a unique position within the global entertainment industry.

Few production destinations in the world can offer such immediate access to Los Angeles while simultaneously providing competitive production costs, highly experienced crews, diverse filming environments, and world-class infrastructure.

The state offers extraordinary visual diversity. Within a short distance, productions can access Pacific coastlines, deserts, mountains, vineyards, urban environments, border settings, and coastal communities.

Baja California is also home to Baja Studios in Rosarito, one of the most famous production facilities in the world. Originally built for James Cameron’s “Titanic”, the facility features some of the largest water tanks ever constructed for film production and has hosted major international projects for more than two decades.

Recent productions associated with Baja California include “Fear the Walking Dead”, “Los Gringo Hunters”, “Santita”, “Euphoria”, and numerous independent feature films, television series, commercials, and digital productions.

Stage 32 Certification: Building Skills for a Global Industry

As international productions continue to seek highly qualified crew members and production professionals, education and professional development have become increasingly important.

Through this partnership, seasoned filmmakers and emerging professionals throughout Baja California will gain access to Stage 32’s internationally recognized certification programs.

These certifications are designed to provide practical, industry-focused training aligned with the needs of today’s global entertainment industry.

The collaboration will help:

  • Increase the competitiveness of Baja California’s audiovisual workforce.
  • Connect local professionals with international standards and best practices.
  • Create pathways toward participation in national and international productions.
  • Strengthen the overall audiovisual ecosystem of the state.
  • Position Baja California as one of the leading production hubs in the Americas.

“Baja California has long been one of Mexico’s leading production destinations. Our proximity to Los Angeles, our production infrastructure, our talented workforce and our diverse locations have attracted filmmakers from around the world. This partnership with Stage 32 represents an important step in continuing to professionalize our industry and connecting Baja California’s audiovisual community with international opportunities.”

— Javier Espinoza Medina, Film Commissioner of Baja California

“Few places in Latin America are as strategically positioned for the entertainment industry as Baja California. The state’s unique combination of world-class infrastructure, international connectivity, creative talent and direct access to the North American market makes it an ideal partner for Stage 32’s certification initiatives.

This partnership seeks to connect local professionals with global standards, international opportunities and a professional network that spans more than 100 countries. At the same time, it supports our shared mission of positioning Baja California and Mexico as world-class destinations for film and television production.”

Baja California and Mexico’s Brand-New Tax Incentives

Baja California will certainly benefit from Mexico’s brand-new federal tax incentives, covering production and logistics, and which are combinable with local incentives.

Through this partnership between Stage 32 Certification and the Baja Film Commission, we hope to help local professionals build meaningful careers while further integrating Baja California into the global film and television industry.

We look forward to working closely with the talented filmmaking community of Baja California and celebrating the achievements that will emerge from this exciting new collaboration.
