As announced exclusively in Variety, Stage 32 is an Education Partner for the STARZ #TakeTheLead Writers’ Intensive with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA).

This program is one of the most important pipelines for underrepresented storytellers, and we couldn’t be more honored to contribute to it.

What Is The #TakeTheLead Writers’ Intensive?

The program is designed to champion emerging television writers from underrepresented communities. The intensive will equip participants with immersive industry insights, creative development tools, and direct mentorship from leading showrunners, executives, and writers. The program will have a strong focus on supporting authentic and inclusive storytelling, encouraging writers to refine their voices and strengthen their scripts to help shape a more representative future for television.

Participants selected will receive hands-on mentorship from experienced industry professionals as they craft an episode treatment and pitch, where they will present their pitch to STARZ creative executives at the conclusion of the three-week program.

What Does This Education Partnership Mean?

The selected finalists will each receive a Stage 32 Scholarship, granting them unlimited access for a year to over 3,500+ hours of on-demand education across every area of creative and business craft: screenwriting, producing, directing, distribution, financing, pitching, and more. These classes are taught by working professionals actively shaping film, television, theater, publishing, music, etc., at the highest levels of the industry. They will have direct access to the Stage 32 education team, as well as opportunities to forge relationships with Stage 32 educators to help them with their craft and career needs.

But this is bigger than just an award. We’re not only helping these finalists land an opportunity—we’re ensuring they have the skills, insights, and tools to sustain a career.
